John Houstoun McIntosh Tabby Sugar Works 06-04-08
The Tabby Sugar Mill Ruins of New Canaan Plantation built around 1825 by John Houstoun McIntosh in Camden County, Georgia near the towns of Kings Bay and St. Mary's. These ruins once were thought to be a Spanish Mission. It is considered to be the largest tabby structure in the southeast and maybe in the United States. Thomas Spalding of Sapelo Island and Georgia was most probably influential in the construction of this Sugar Works which made sugar from Sugar Cane.
