Slave and Petersville Graves on Petersville Road 11-13-08
Graves in two cemeteries along Petersville Road in Glynn County, Georgia near Brunswick dating from the slaves of Hofwyl Plantation to Petersville Community current residents. Trash is being dumped on this site - first household garbage and then lawn debris has been thrown on top at a later date. Glynn County is taking no responsibility for the cleanup or the apprehension of the offenders since this is Hofwyl Plantation land. However, they are not enforcing FEDERAL and STATE regulations regarding cemeteries. Also, the county has hundreds of employees while Hofwyl has 4 or 5 employees. Thank you County for your generous help - NOT.

on December 11, 2017Thank you for taking the time to document the grave sites and their shameful condition. I pray someone has taken responsibility for cleaning the site. Such disrespect of the departed is shameful
